Crisitano Ronaldo was born on the island of Madeira 5 February 1985 , he weighs 13st and is 6 1" tall. Ronaldo began his career as a youth player at CD Nacional and his success there led to a move to Sporting Lisbon just two seasons later.. Ronaldo's precocious talent caught the attention of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and he signed the 18-year-old for £12.24 million in 2003. In 2004 he was selected-for his home team Portugal for the Euro 2004 event and although he started out on the bench his subsequent performances meant Scolari gave him a crucial role in the team, they made the final but to everyone's surprise that year Greece won and Ronaldo was left in tears.
